If you're sourcing sweaters from China, the odds are your product will come from Dalang, Dongguan — a town of 300,000 people in Guangdong Province that produces roughly 15% of the world's knitwear. Lin Sweater Factory has operated from Dalang since 1996. We manufacture custom sweaters and knitwear directly for brands — no trading company layer, no sourcing agent markup, no minimum order of 300 pieces. This page covers who we are, how we work, and how to tell a real Chinese sweater factory from an importer posing as one.
Why most Chinese sweaters actually come from one town
Dalang is not accidental. Over the last 30 years it has become the single biggest knitwear cluster on Earth — denser than Prato, bigger than the Italian Biella district, and producing more flat-knit output than every other Chinese city combined. The town is home to around 30,000 knitwear-related businesses, 10,000 flat knitting machines, 400+ knitting-machine suppliers, and a complete supply chain from raw yarn through finished garment to carton packing, all within a 10-kilometre radius.
What this means for a brand sourcing from China: if your supplier is based in Dalang, your yarn selection, needle-bed availability, linking labour, and shipping are all local. If your supplier is based anywhere else in China, they are almost certainly subcontracting production to Dalang and adding a 20–30% markup. That is why our Dalang knitwear capital guide is the first article we recommend to new brand buyers — understanding the geography is the fastest way to understand Chinese knitwear pricing.
Who Lin Sweater is — operationally and commercially
We are Dongguan Tuosheng Apparel Co., Ltd. — a registered manufacturing entity in Guangdong Province (business license available on request; see the factory page for photo evidence). We operate three production floors totalling roughly 2,400 square metres in Dalang Town, with 120+ full-time skilled workers across knitting, linking, finishing, and quality control. Our founder, Lin Qihui, entered the knitwear industry in 1996 and established the current factory in 2000.
Commercially, we produce approximately 110+ distinct styles per year across women's, men's, and children's knitwear, shipping to 30+ countries on four continents. Our brand client base (800+ served since 2000) ranges from Amazon FBA sellers ordering 50-piece test runs to European wholesale retailers placing 10,000-piece seasonal orders. What ties them together is that they work with us directly — the intermediary layer most Chinese manufacturers rely on is not part of our pricing.
What we manufacture
We cover the full flat-knit category — from men's heavy-gauge winter cardigans through summer ribbed tank tops. Below are the four demographic segments with direct links to matching product pages and related resources:

Across all four segments we offer both OEM (you provide the design, we manufacture exactly) and ODM (we adapt a proven block and you customise yarn, colour, and trim) — our OEM vs ODM guide explains the trade-offs. Every category is available from 50 pieces per style per colour via our low MOQ service.
Our process — from your tech pack to FOB shipment
The end-to-end process for a new brand client runs on a consistent 35–50 day calendar, assuming standard yarn availability and 2 sample rounds:
You send your tech pack (or reference photos + spec list). We reply within 24 hours with yarn recommendation, gauge spec, and indicative ex-factory price. See our tech pack guide for what to include.
Flat sampling fee $80–150 depending on yarn. First sample photographed from 4 angles and shipped via DHL or equivalent.
Usually 1–2 revision rounds. Pre-production sample signed off once measurements, yarn, colour, and stitch specification are locked.
Your order runs on the same knitting machines, linking lines, and QC stations as our long-term clients. 100% inline quality inspection plus final AQL 2.5 check.
Packing list, commercial invoice, certificate of origin, shipping advice. Sea freight to US/EU 25–35 days door-to-port. See our export documents guide.
How to tell a real China sweater factory from a trading company
The biggest sourcing mistake new brand buyers make is paying a trading company's 20–30% markup while believing they are dealing directly with a factory. Five concrete tells separate a real Chinese manufacturer from an importer:
| Test | Trading company | Real factory (Lin Sweater) |
|---|---|---|
| Will they share the business license? | Shows parent company, not factory | Dongguan Tuosheng Apparel Co., Ltd. — shown on request |
| Can you visit the factory? | Evasive or "arranges" a tour somewhere | Walk in. Dalang Town address public. |
| Do they have first-hand samples in stock? | Promises to "request samples from factory" | 150+ active production styles in showroom |
| Lead time quoted when production is busy? | Unchanged 30 days (they don't know the queue) | Honest ±5–7 days adjustment based on our own schedule |
| Can they quote on yarn count and gauge directly? | Needs to "check with factory" | Same-hour quote on 2/32Nm, 12G, any yarn specification |
| Bottom line | 20–30% markup | Direct ex-factory pricing |
Our trading company vs real factory guide covers 12 additional tells in detail, including photographic tests and yarn-swatch verification.
Certifications, export experience, and compliance
Compliance depends on your target market. Below is our current certification and documentation position — updated honestly, not oversold:
- Business license: Registered Guangdong Province entity. Photo evidence available on request.
- OEKO-TEX STANDARD 100 yarn: Available on request for cotton, wool, cashmere, and blend orders at no premium — direct supplier relationships with Inner Mongolian and Jiangsu yarn mills.
- BSCI audit: Application in progress. Most competitors in Dalang already hold BSCI; we are catching up and expect certification in the second half of 2026.
- Export documentation: Packing list, commercial invoice, certificate of origin (Form A / Form E / general), shipping advice — all issued in-house. See our export documents guide.
- AQL inspection: Standard 2.5 AQL on all bulk orders. Third-party inspection (SGS, Bureau Veritas, Intertek) accommodated on request.
Export experience spans 30+ countries across North America (US, Canada), Europe (UK, Germany, France, Netherlands, Italy, Spain, Portugal, Sweden, Denmark, Norway, Belgium), Asia-Pacific (Australia, New Zealand, Japan, Korea, Singapore), South America (Brazil, Chile, Argentina), and Middle East markets.
