Merino wool has become one of the most commercially important fibres for premium and lifestyle knitwear brands. Its combination of exceptional softness, natural temperature regulation, and moisture management makes it the preferred choice for brands targeting conscious consumers who value both comfort and performance. Lin Sweater is an OEM merino wool sweater manufacturer with extensive experience producing fine-gauge to mid-weight merino knitwear for export brands.

Merino wool options we source
We source merino yarn from established suppliers covering the main categories buyers request: standard merino (17–19 microns, excellent cost-performance), fine merino (15–17 microns, next-to-skin softness), superwash merino (machine-washable treatment, reduces return rates), and RWS-certified merino (Responsible Wool Standard, for sustainability-focused brands).
Merino knitwear styles and gauges
Merino wool works best at finer gauges — typically 10G through 14G for lightweight spring and autumn styles, and 7G for mid-weight seasonal pieces. We produce the full range: fine-gauge V-necks and crew necks, lightweight cardigans, fitted turtlenecks, and transitional spring/summer styles.
For chunky gauges (3G–5G), a wool blend or recycled wool is often a better choice than 100% merino, as the fibre's fineness provides less structural benefit in bulky constructions. Our team will advise on the best yarn match for your gauge and style.
Certifications available
For brands selling into the EU, US, or UK, we can provide: RWS (Responsible Wool Standard) certification documentation, OEKO-TEX STANDARD 100 test reports, fibre content laboratory test reports (SGS or Bureau Veritas), and superwash treatment certificates. These are increasingly required by major retailers and e-commerce platforms. See our export documentation guide for the full list by market.
