We source merino yarn from established suppliers covering the main categories buyers request: standard merino (17–19 microns, excellent cost-performance), fine merino (15–17 microns, next-to-skin softness), superwash merino (machine-washable treatment, reduces return rates), and RWS-certified merino (Responsible Wool Standard, for sustainability-focused brands).

Merino knitwear styles and gauges

Merino wool works best at finer gauges — typically 10G through 14G for lightweight spring and autumn styles, and 7G for mid-weight seasonal pieces. We produce the full range: fine-gauge V-necks and crew necks, lightweight cardigans, fitted turtlenecks, and transitional spring/summer styles.

For chunky gauges (3G–5G), a wool blend or recycled wool is often a better choice than 100% merino, as the fibre's fineness provides less structural benefit in bulky constructions. Our team will advise on the best yarn match for your gauge and style.
