Pure cashmere vs cashmere blends
Pure cashmere (100%) delivers the highest perceived luxury but comes at a premium cost and can be prone to pilling with lower-grade fibre. Cashmere blends — typically 70/30 or 50/50 with merino wool — offer most of the softness benefit at lower cost, with better durability and pilling resistance.
For brands targeting the USD 80–150 retail price point, a high-quality cashmere blend often delivers better value than 100% lower-grade cashmere. For products above USD 200, pure Grade A or Grade B cashmere is the right choice.
